World Book Day 2019

On 7th March, we celebrated World Book Day. The children were all asked to come to school dressed as a book character. As always, the costumes were very impressive.

Parents were invited to come into school to share a story with their child(ren). Class 4 shared stories with those children whose parents were unable to come in on the day. It was lovely to see so many parents reading with their children.

The children in KS2 enjoyed a book quiz. They were divided into teams and collaborated together to answer 20 book themed questions. The results were very close, although Cieran, Luke, Kieran, Sam, Maisie, George, Evan and Brandon were this year’s winners, with an impressive 18 points.

Miss Palmer and Mrs Fenn kindly made biscuits to sell on the day. Kaylee and Evie from the School Council sold these. The biscuit sales totalled £59.64. This money will go into School Council funds.

All children received their £1 book token to either swap for one of the special books produced this year, or put towards a book of their choice.

Overall, a great day of celebrating reading was enjoyed by all.
