Snettisham Park

In July Class 1 and 2 had a fun day out at Snettisham Park where they got to see different animals, their habitats and breathe the fresh country air.

The first part of their adventure was the coach journey to Snettisham, however, a few games of eye spy later and the children were ready to disembark into the countryside.

Whilst there, the children completed a 1.5 mile discovery walk, avoiding the prevalent nettles and prickles. Along the route the children were able to see the red deer and were shown the different crops the farm grows: wheat, barley, sugar beet and grass. By then the children were all definitely ready for their lunch.

The children got to meet ponies, chickens, lambs, sheep and tortoises. They happily handled the tortoises, eagerly feeding them daisies and dandelions and they got to groom one of the ponies. They enjoyed collecting eggs from the chicken coop, and then sorting them in the sorting machine.

The day did not end there, as there was the sheep shearing show, followed by the dancing sheep and one of the highlights of the day was feeding the lambs followed by herding them back into their pens. Before long, the children were back on the coach, heading back to school after having a thoroughly good day out.

Class 1 would like to thank the Friends of Denver for financing the trip and Miss Pennock for organising it all.
