Visit to the Local Church

On Tuesday 24th November 2015 the children from Class 1 went to explore St Mary’s Church and learn about the work Judith does as Denver’s rector.

The children thought the stained glass windows were beautiful and they were able to identify baby Jesus on the picture. The thought the font was a flower pot as it was decorated with beautiful flowers but Judith explained that it was used to christen people. They were very keen to use the organ and climb up into the high pulpit. Judith showed them Christian symbols in the church, such as the wooden cross.

To summarise their visit to St Mary Church, in the words of one of the children returning to school from the church, “That was awesome”.
