SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

At Denver VC Primary School, we believe that every child is unique and should have the opportunity to flourish, achieve success and "Let their light shine" (Matthew 5:16). Our Christian vision reminds us that every child is valued and deserves to feel happy, safe and supported throughout their time with us.

We are committed to creating an inclusive school where all children can participate fully in school life, make good progress and develop the confidence and skills they need for the future. This includes children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

A pupil is considered to have a Special Educational Need where their learning difficulty or disability calls for special educational provision, namely provision different from or additional to that normally available to pupils of the same age.

For pupils with identified SEND, we make many adaptations to our educational provision and the school environment in order for all pupils to be fully included in all aspects of school life. We identify barriers to learning as they arise and provide appropriate support to enable every child to achieve his or her potential.
