Safety Day - Class 4

On 26th June we held a curriculum enrichment day in school which explored different aspects of safety.

In Class 4 we started the day by looking at staying safe in the sun and the children designed their own t-shirts to portray this message. We had some fantastic t-shirts and the winning design went to Ellen. Well done!

Following this, Sergeant Chris Bradley and PC Kerry Harman delivered a session on road traffic safety. The children explored some of the dangers that we face on the roads and how we can keep ourselves safe.
In the afternoon, Peter Taylor, from St John's Ambulance, taught the children some basic first aid. The children put each other into the recovery position and learnt how to do basic CPR. They were also shown how to apply bandages and slings and enjoyed practising this on each other.

Out last session was led by Sara Plastow from Jigsaw. She explored with the children some of the dangers involved in using the internet and gave some important messages about how they could keep themselves safe.

Overall, we had a fantastic day and took away some important messages about keeping ourselves safe.
